Lea Joyner Methodist Church has women’s groups called circles.  These women’s groups are part of an organized group called United Methodist Women.

The purpose of this organized unit of United Methodist Women is to know God and to experience freedom as a whole person through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Our UMW provides financial support for mission programs within our local church, the Monroe-West Monroe community and the State of Louisiana, as well as supporting national and global projects.  Special attention is given to projects involving the needs of women and children.

Members of the unit are organized into 3 mission groups.  These meet monthly.  The members of each group choose their own topics of study.  Mission groups provide supportive fellowship for their members.  They also participate in several types of ministry to shut-ins, hospitalized persons, and to other individual groups.  The groups are as follows:

Lea Circle

This circle meets the first Tuesday at 9:30am at the church.  The members are 60+.

Laudenheimer Circle

This circle meets on the 3rd Thursday at 6pm.  Its members are in the 30’s – 55’s group.

Circle of Faith

This circle is for the young women of the church.  They meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm in different homes.
