Our Music Ministry at Lea Joyner!     

The Music Ministry at Lea Joyner is very exciting.  We offer both traditional and contemporary music with programs for adults, senior adults, youth and children.  The most important thing about the music ministry at Lea Joyner is the fact that we enjoy praising the Lord in song!  All of our groups are volunteer-based and our prime focus is to worship God and have a good time while doing it.  In the history of Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church, music has always played a very important role in worship and special events.  It doesn't matter how old you are or what type of music you like, there is a place for you at Lea Joyner Church in the music ministry.  

Chancel Choir     

The Chancel Choir has been in existence since the the church was founded.  The Chancel Choir is an all-volunteer choir.  We practice every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m.  We enjoy singing a wide variety of music:  classical, gospel, folk music and praise & worship.  We encourage anyone to join who has a love for music.  Please contact Lance Dumas at 343-0073 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. GAP Band

Handbells  

The Celebration Ringers is our adult three -octave handbell choir, directed by Rev. Betty Swanson.  This is truly a unique ministry to be associated with.  This groups performs quarterly for worship and special services during the year.  The Celebration Ringers practice on Sunday afternoons at 3:30 p.m.  Please contact Betty at 343-0073 for more information.

Young At Heart Senior Adult Choir     

The Young at Heart is a choir for Senior Adults, directed by Elaine Chapman.  They meet every Wednesday at 10:00a.m.  Very often they are asked to sing at the 9:00 service, special church functions, and in places in the community.  They usually present a musical each year.  Also, besides singing Christian songs, their repertoire of music consists of the oldie but goodie songs.
